This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, architect, and develop automation and integration tests for backend services as part of infrastructure engineering quality efforts.
• Take ownership of the technical components related to test frameworks, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Create, maintain, and optimize test automation frameworks specifically for Optro web applications.
• Lead the development of synthetic data and generative AI initiatives.
• Formulate and implement an architectural plan to transition existing test frameworks into self-healing, AI-enhanced ecosystems.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of system code architecture and component interactions.
• Assess, prototype, and deploy agentic tooling to improve test automation frameworks and related tools.
• Oversee technical communications and provide mentorship to junior SDETs.
• Collaborate with teams across infrastructure, platform, architecture, and product domains.
• Offer technical insights regarding product design, architecture, and functional testability.
• Investigate testing tools, frameworks, methodologies, and industry trends; enhance practices and processes accordingly.
• Develop thorough, comprehensive, and well-organized test plans and scripts based on API and client-driven design specifications.
• Promote the adoption of software test development standards and best practices to enhance scalability, reliability, defect detection, and delivery speed.
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Over 9 years of demonstrated experience in Software Development in Test.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience using Playwright or Cypress.
• Minimum of 4 years coding experience in JavaScript and/or TypeScript (preferred).
• Over 4 years of experience in test automation for SaaS and/or B2B internet-based applications.
• At least 3 years of experience in building test automation with NodeJS, NPM, or similar technologies.
• Proven experience in building infrastructure-as-code automation using Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools.
• Demonstrable ability to research and implement new technologies to enhance application, infrastructure, and team productivity.
• Proven experience in debugging complex issues across various services or application stack layers.
• Strong technical skills and a history of making architectural decisions.
• Experience in testing web applications hosted on AWS, Azure, or other cloud services.
• Familiarity with Agile-Scrum and other Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and peer reviewing with developers.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication and technical leadership capabilities.
• Passionate about designing, developing, and testing code, as well as learning new technologies.
• Background check required.
