This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, construct, assess, and sustain shared automation frameworks, internal services, and developer tools for QA and engineering teams.
• Take ownership of the testing strategy and execution for backend APIs, microservices, and comprehensive business workflows.
• Maintain a balance among component, contract, integration, and system-level test coverage.
• Design and enhance code-based automation frameworks featuring reusable setup and cleanup, data-driven scenarios, dependency isolation, and failure reporting.
• Verify business rules, API contracts, data persistence, authorization, error handling, and service compatibility.
• Test asynchronous processing and manage distributed-system failure conditions, which include retries, duplicate events, partial failures, and delayed consistency.
• Implement automated checks within continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Validate cloud-hosted services and their deployment configurations; troubleshoot failures utilizing logs, telemetry, and infrastructure evidence.
• Evaluate performance and resilience risks while designing targeted test cases.
• Collaborate with engineers to address any identified weaknesses.
• Review requirements and architecture while communicating quality risks.
• Mentor engineers while independently leading complex testing initiatives.
• Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Typically possess 6–8 years of software testing or engineering experience, with at least 3 years concentrated on backend APIs and service-based architectures.
• Practical experience in developing test automation frameworks and integrating them into automated delivery pipelines.
• Strong expertise in a general-purpose programming language.
• In-depth knowledge of API testing, microservice interactions, service contracts, and distributed application behavior.
• Advanced skills in automation design, including test lifecycle management, parameterized execution, mocking, shared utilities, and parallel execution.
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting public-cloud applications, encompassing identity and permissions, networking, compute, storage, and messaging dependencies.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery, source control, automated quality checks, and environment configuration.
• Strong database querying capabilities and the ability to trace data and failures across various services.
• Ability to transform incomplete requirements into meaningful tests and convey technical findings effectively.
• Preferred experience in property and casualty insurance.
• Experience in testing event-driven architectures and intricate third-party integrations.
• Knowledge of performance, resilience, and service-level security testing.
• Proven track record of enhancing automation reliability, execution time, or defect detection.
