Senior Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.

📋 Description

• Establish an independent research profile focusing on hybrid AI for cybersecurity and the security and privacy of agentic systems.

• Publish research findings in international forums and present at various conferences.

• Seek project opportunities and secure funding from external sources.

• Prepare and finalize a habilitation thesis that is publication-ready.

• Teach courses independently, adhering to the relevant collective bargaining agreements.

• Guide students in courses that address both technical and organizational aspects of security.

• Assist in organizing workshops, conferences, and symposia.

• Engage in evaluation activities and ensure quality assurance.

• Make meaningful contributions to research, teaching, and administrative duties within the Security & Privacy research group at the Faculty of Computer Science.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate specializing in information security.

• Research emphasis on semantic technologies and automation for cybersecurity, with a demonstrated history of research accomplishments.

• Publications in reputable information security journals.

• Proven experience in obtaining third-party funding.

• Background in managing large-scale research initiatives.

• Proficient programming skills.

• Leadership capabilities in supervising students.

• Experience teaching computer science at both bachelor's and master's levels.

• Proficient in both German and English languages.

• Strong collaborative skills.

• Demonstrated persistence and assertiveness.

• Preferred: Experience with international and interdisciplinary research endeavors.

• Preferred: Familiarity with university processes and structures.
