Medical Affairs Scientist – Obesity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide medical-scientific and (cardio)metabolic expertise for products within the obesity pipeline, specifically GLP-1 therapies.

• Develop comprehensive (cardio)metabolic and medical-scientific knowledge in the relevant indication area.

• Collect medical-scientific insights from clinical practice to enhance the strategy of the Medical Affairs department and the organization.

• Convey medical-scientific knowledge to external stakeholders and networks in alignment with Pfizer’s overarching strategy.

• Establish and sustain a robust regional network with clinical and scientific experts, institutions, professional societies, and research groups.

• Oversee external speakers and research partners, addressing medical-pharmaceutical inquiries and external projects.

• Engage in discussions regarding study concepts and assess current clinical research, publications, and congress presentations.

• Create and present medical-pharmaceutical information to physicians, pharmacists, and Pfizer colleagues, delivering external presentations in the indication area.

• Execute the Medical Plan in the region, supporting or leading scientific congress symposia and event initiatives.

• Assist with interventional studies, as well as NIS and RWE projects, including protocol input, feasibility assessments, site initiation, and engagement.

• Participate in the preparation, review, and approval of materials.

• Train the commercial field force and other functions, contributing to adherence to Medical Compliance requirements.

• Develop expertise in at least one product-independent focus area, document insights in OneMed, and engage in cross-functional internal collaboration platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• University degree in human medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or natural sciences (as per Section 75 of the German Medicines Act), preferably with a doctoral degree.

• Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

• Medical-pharmaceutical expertise, encompassing scientific methodology and interpretation of clinical studies.

• Proven expertise in the field of metabolism.

• Specific knowledge of the healthcare system, products, and market within the indication area is preferred.

• Experience in project management, digital communication tools, and networking.

• Fluent in German (C1 level or higher) and possess very good English skills.

• Class B driver’s license required.

• Exceptional work organization skills, including self-management, administration, and reporting.

• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation abilities; capable of working collaboratively and independently.

• Excellent coordination, assertiveness, and organizational skills.
