Lead Medical Affairs Scientist – Lung Field

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead, manage, support, and nurture the national BU Medical Affairs Scientist team specializing in the lung therapeutic area.

• Collaborate with the BU Medical Director to establish team objectives.

• Develop the Medical Plan and supervise its local execution.

• Recruit, manage, mentor, and continuously enhance the development of team members.

• Prioritize team activities, resources, and budgets in alignment with local needs, medical priorities, and performance metrics.

• Integrate the team within local, regional, and global Pfizer networks.

• Cultivate and sustain peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), patient organizations, professional societies, payers, regulators, HealthTech companies, digital health agencies, and AI regulatory authorities.

• Participate in scientific discussions with HCPs while critically assessing and contextualizing scientific and AI-generated evidence.

• Generate, document, synthesize, and disseminate medical insights.

• Support pipeline development, including protocol feasibility, site identification, and Investigator-Sponsored Research/Investigator-Initiated Research (ISR/IIR) projects.

• Lead local real-world evidence (RWE) generation, encompassing AI-supported study design and electronic health record (EHR)-based feasibility assessments.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Access & Value, Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance teams while upholding non-promotional boundaries.

• Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal Pfizer requirements, as well as Responsible AI and data governance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in human medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or an advanced degree (e.g., MSc) in the natural sciences, with subject-matter expertise in accordance with Section 75 of the German Medicines Act (AMG); an MD, DVM, DPharm, or PhD is preferred.

• Relevant experience in the lung cancer therapeutic area (thoracic oncology).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a comparable setting.

• Proven scientific and technical expertise, including knowledge of scientific methodology, clinical trials, and medical principles.

• Strong project management and organizational abilities.

• Familiarity with digital communication tools and networks.

• Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.

• Experience in team leadership is preferred.

• Fluent in German (C1 or higher).

• Proficient in English.

• Possession of a Category B driver's license.

• Knowledge of products, markets, and competitors within the relevant therapeutic area is preferred.
