This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Design, develop, and sustain custom SAP Commerce extensions, which encompass data models, service layers, facades, interceptors, cron jobs, and platform logic.
• Collaborate within the SAP Commerce type system, persistence layer, Spring-based service layer, ImpEx, FlexibleSearch, and the Commerce Cloud build/deploy model.
• Create new platform functionalities based on business needs and maintain/refactor the existing codebase, including the accelerator-based storefront.
• Establish and manage robust integrations between SAP Commerce and ERP, PIM/Stibo, and CRM systems through middleware as appropriate.
• Define data ownership and establish source-of-truth behavior across system boundaries.
• Design and develop OCC/commerce APIs with consistent semantics and stable versioning when required.
• Take ownership of production issues by reproducing, isolating, analyzing root causes, fixing, and verifying solutions.
• Utilize SAP Commerce Cloud logs and Dynatrace traces, service flow, log analysis, and performance metrics for issue diagnosis.
• Communicate the root cause and impact to the team and stakeholders, ensuring action items are resolved.
• Conduct pull-request reviews to ensure domain correctness and adherence to architectural standards.
• Create transferable documentation to mitigate the reliance on tribal knowledge.
• Contribute during solutioning and design phases to identify potential risks prior to sprint execution.
• Engage in requirements and scope definition, providing accurate estimates.
• Operate within an Agile Kanban/sprint-based delivery model that includes feature flags, fallback logic, error handling, and test coverage.
• Extensive and demonstrable experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) backend — typically 6+ years — with full, independent ownership of significant extension and platform work.
• Proven experience in building extensions across the type system, persistence layer, Spring service layer, interceptors, ImpEx, and FlexibleSearch.
• Strong understanding of design patterns and object-oriented design principles within a layered architecture.
• Capability to analyze the full stack, from storefront or API requests through service and persistence layers to the integration boundary.
• Proficient in independently diagnosing production issues using SAP Commerce Cloud logs and Dynatrace, tracing ambiguous symptoms to their root causes.
• Experience in building and maintaining integrations between SAP Commerce and upstream ERP, PIM/Stibo, and CRM systems, including through middleware.
• Ability to assess data authority, resilience, and failure behavior across system boundaries.
• Capacity to work autonomously, take ownership of outcomes from start to finish, and communicate root causes and impacts clearly.
• Strong skills in SQL and Solr are preferred.
• Familiarity with or ability to understand headless/composable architecture, including OCC consumed by Spartacus/Composable Storefront or a custom React frontend, is preferred.
• A history of enhancing developer capabilities through documentation, design input, and reviews is preferred.
• Knowledge of composable/MACH architecture, Contentful or another headless CMS, Algolia, and Cloudinary is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience is preferred.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
• High employer 401K match.
• Paid time off (PTO).
• Holiday pay.
• Short-term and long-term disability benefit plans.
• Above-benchmark paid maternity and parental leave.
• Bonus opportunities in alignment with the Company’s incentive plans.
• Paid time off to volunteer.
• Employee Resource Group network.
