Senior Safety Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee or perform all facets of loss prevention, risk management, and safety operations.

• Foster a robust safety culture within the Hargrove organization through risk and gap assessments, enhancements to the safety management system, and direct engagement with team members.

• Carry out risk assessments on Hargrove's operational activities to pinpoint potential hazards and deficiencies in safety protocols.

• Continuously enhance safety management procedures.

• Collaborate with colleagues both in the office and on-site to advocate for a safety culture and ensure compliance with protocols.

• Recognize requirements and develop/manage HSE/Loss Prevention policies and processes.

• Detect areas of potential loss and devise preventative strategies, including leading the Safety Leadership Team.

• Identify, design, and deliver HSE training programs.

• Coordinate with Construction Management to provide qualified Field Safety Managers for construction initiatives.

• Review subcontractor and client agreements with the Procurement team to mitigate unnecessary risks.

• Build and maintain relationships with clients’ HSE representatives.

• Collaborate with project managers to integrate HSE considerations throughout the design and construction phases.

• Operate independently with general guidance from the Vice President of EPC Services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Public Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene (MSPH) from an accredited institution is preferred.

• The ability to obtain certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP, ASP, SMS, CHST or STSC) is preferred.

• At least 15 years of pertinent experience in industrial and construction safety, risk management, and management.

• Proficient understanding of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and other best practices in Loss Prevention.

• Solid knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and Safety principles and practices.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects effectively.

• Proven ability to lead a team and fulfill commitments.

• Outstanding presentation skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
