Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop the next generation of the practice management platform.

• Collaborate with the Product team to identify customer needs, resolve potential issues, and outline future features.

• Create new functionalities from inception to completion, encompassing architecture design, coding, and testing.

• Produce clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code that significantly enhances the code base.

• Assist in diagnosing issues and designing effective solutions.

• Focus on front-end development while placing a stronger emphasis on backend processes.

• Contribute to the formation of a software development team in Mexico.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of engineering experience, including hands-on expertise in Ruby on Rails during part of your career.

• Fluent in English, showcasing strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

• Substantial experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework, specifically Ember.js or React.js, along with their ecosystems.

• Experience in designing and implementing large, scalable web applications.

• Proven track record of taking Rails applications from concept to production.

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development principles.

• Comfortable collaborating with remote teams using tools like GitHub, Slack, Notion, and Zoom.

• A solid understanding of web application security and best practices.

• Working knowledge of Docker, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, NGINX, and AWS services.

• Confident in troubleshooting issues within production environments.

• Experience with Linux systems.

• Infrastructure management experience using Terraform or Ansible.

• Knowledge of PCI/HIPAA compliance standards.
