This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +3 more countries.
• Create, develop, and enhance Ruby on Rails services that support the iGaming platform.
• Build high-performance APIs, manage payment and wallet processes, integrate real-time gaming features, and develop back-office tools.
• Utilize coding assistants and AI tools for scaffolding, refactoring, test creation, and code review while ensuring the quality of integrated code.
• Incorporate LLM-based functionalities into the product, such as fraud and risk detection, player support automation, content generation, and internal analytics assistance.
• Analyze critical paths and optimize PostgreSQL queries.
• Design strategies for caching and background processing.
• Investigate incidents to determine root causes and maintain performance and reliability.
• Review code produced by both humans and AI.
• Guide mid-level engineers and establish standards for responsible AI usage.
• Engage in architecture discussions, technical planning, and cross-team projects.
• Over 4 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• In-depth knowledge of Ruby internals, Rails conventions, and when to deviate from them.
• Strong expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL, including indexing, query optimization, and handling migrations on large tables without downtime.
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed system principles, such as message queues, idempotency, eventual consistency, background jobs, and caching.
• Familiarity with Sidekiq or similar background job frameworks.
• Experience with Redis.
• Practical experience using AI coding tools in daily tasks.
• Capability to assess and validate AI-generated code and critically analyze and write tests.
• Background in designing and utilizing REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Knowledge of OpenAPI.
• Proficiency in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.
• Comfortable interpreting Kubernetes manifests and logs.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.
• Proficient in English at B2 level or above.
• Willingness to take ownership of architecture, handle edge cases, oversee production behavior, and ensure code quality.
