This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assess the current state of the Oracle database, infrastructure, resilience, and integration landscape.
• Validate the scheduled changes involving Oracle 19c, IBM AIX, and Oracle Data Guard along with their interdependencies.
• Specify which data and business rules should remain within the Oracle environment.
• Establish the secure boundary between Oracle and the upcoming integration platform.
• Evaluate existing direct connections and pinpoint the highest risk dependencies.
• Set the standards for availability, backup, recovery, performance, monitoring, and support.
• Determine if the planned investments in Oracle and infrastructure are appropriate.
• Provide Oracle specifications for selecting platforms and suppliers.
• Estimate the necessary specialist efforts, dependencies, risks, and anticipated delivery phases.
• Create clear technical findings and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and Lead Integration Architect during the definition stage of a significant UK enterprise technology initiative.
• The role primarily involves remote work, with limited travel as required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience working with enterprise Oracle environments.
• Strong recent architectural experience with Oracle Database 19c.
• Solid hands-on or design experience with IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard.
• Experience managing highly available, business-critical Oracle environments.
• Familiarity with reviewing Oracle integrations, interfaces, batch jobs, files, and database links.
• Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, patching, performance, resilience, and security practices.
• Capable of distinguishing verified facts from assumptions and identifying areas requiring further investigation.
• Able to communicate Oracle-related decisions clearly to non-technical leaders.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Located in the United Kingdom and entitled to work in the UK.
• Available for approximately 10 days over an 8 to 10 week timeframe.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain sectors is advantageous.
• Familiarity with HPE infrastructure and Oracle licensing is also beneficial.
• Engagement is subject to contract, reference checks, and an IR35 status evaluation.
• Flexible delivery schedule throughout the agreed 8 to 10 week period.
• Direct access to Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and senior client technology leaders.
• A targeted project with defined outputs and decision-making milestones.
• Possibility of follow-on Oracle and implementation assurance work, contingent on program approval and performance.
• Pre-approved travel expenses reimbursed separately.
