AI Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Create and maintain robust, thoroughly tested backend services and full-stack applications, prioritizing Clean Code, TDD, and effective architecture.

• Design and develop AI applications tailored to business needs, including RAG systems, assistants, and generative text processing leveraging existing Large Language Models.

• Utilize cutting-edge AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to enhance development efficiency and quality.

• Integrate AI models and services seamlessly into current systems and workflows.

• Create data integration solutions for continuous, automated data streams.

• Prepare and process data for various AI applications.

• Design, document, and deploy clean APIs effectively.

• Construct automated tests and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality delivery.

• Regularly assess and enhance software components and RAG pipelines.

• Play a role in optimizing business processes and reaching strategic goals of the company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in a senior capacity.

• Proficient in Python for backend development, data engineering, and prototyping, or similar programming languages.

• Knowledge of TypeScript and/or C# is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with Clean Code principles, Test-Driven Development, automated testing, and conducting code reviews.

• Extensive understanding of RAG pipelines and vector databases.

• Practical background in LLM-based applications.

• Strong backend expertise complemented by frontend skills, such as TypeScript/React.

• Capability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and focus on delivering tangible results.

• Proficient in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating with diverse teams.

• Fluency in German at a minimum C1 level, both written and spoken.

• Must reside in Germany, Austria, or Spain.

• Experience with AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, or familiarity with agentic development, is a plus.

• Ability to plan and implement development projects is desirable.

• Strong skills in creating clear and precise technical documentation are preferred.

• Openness to developing innovative ideas and experimenting with new methodologies is desirable.
