This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Develop and enhance features within a substantial Rails 8 application, which includes models, controllers, background jobs, and server-rendered views.
• Create dynamic front-end experiences utilizing Hotwire, Turbo Drive, Turbo Frames, Turbo Streams, Stimulus, and Tailwind CSS.
• Enhance and expand an internal Rails-based CMS while contributing to component-driven content authoring experiences.
• Build and fortify integrations with external ticketing, event management, and CRM systems through REST APIs, webhooks, and scheduled synchronization.
• Design resilient integrations incorporating retry logic, idempotency, failure management, and automated reconciliation.
• Construct and manage Sidekiq workflows with a focus on concurrency, sequence, and failure scenarios.
• Design and implement versioned APIs that support mobile applications and downstream consumers.
• Optimize application and PostgreSQL performance in anticipation of high-traffic seasonal events.
• Implement caching strategies, participate in load testing, and assist with CDN and automated scaling efforts.
• Write significant automated tests while actively engaging in code reviews and contributing to technical decision-making.
• Over 5 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails, including extensive work within large existing production codebases.
• Recent experience with Rails 7 or Rails 8.
• Strong production experience with Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus.
• In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema and index design, query optimization, EXPLAIN analysis, and N+1 troubleshooting.
• Experience in designing background jobs with Sidekiq or similar, covering retry strategies, idempotency, queue isolation, and failure handling.
• Solid experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks.
• Experience with automated testing using RSpec or Minitest, including request specs and system/integration testing with Capybara.
• Proficient in semantic HTML and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience creating accessible interfaces in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, OAuth2/OIDC, token/session management, and role-based access control.
• Experience with observability practices, including structured logging, metrics, and APM tools.
• Excellent communication abilities and the capability to work proactively in distributed teams.
• Advanced proficiency in English; professional fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
• Candidates must currently reside in Latin America or Brazil.
• Candidates should be able to maintain a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with Eastern Time.
