Backend Developer, Laravel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance backend functionality utilizing Laravel

• Convert business requirements into clean, understandable, and testable code

• Design and sustain REST APIs and, when applicable, GraphQL APIs

• Collaborate with external partners and third-party systems, assessing and integrating external services

• Maintain high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, refactoring, and clean implementation practices

• Create and update technical documentation for APIs, interfaces, and integrations

• Participate in the planning, execution, and enhancement of features in an agile setting, including sprint planning and retrospectives

• Evaluate and adopt new frameworks, libraries, and tools

• Assist in the development of a Legal Tech platform aimed at e-commerce businesses, streamlining and automating legal processes

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in developing web applications with Laravel or similar frameworks

• Proficiency in PHP and Laravel

• Knowledge of maintainable backend systems, robust business logic, and dependable interfaces

• Experience in creating and integrating APIs, along with working with external services

• Structured, clear, and clean development focused on maintainability and code quality

• Experience working in agile teams, preferably employing Scrum methodology

• Understanding of relational databases and effective data modeling (preferred)

• Experience with testing in PHP environments (preferred)

• Hands-on experience documenting interfaces and integrations (preferred)

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, queues, or asynchronous processing (preferred)

• Experience with modular applications and extensive codebases (preferred)

• Exposure to AI-driven features, automation, or product-oriented AI applications (preferred)

• Systems thinking, a solution-focused mindset, self-motivated work style, effective prioritization skills, and an interest in emerging technologies
