Senior Robotics Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Enhance mushroom detection capabilities using depth camera systems.

• Utilize soft grippers for mushroom harvesting while minimizing any damage.

• Develop harvest intelligence systems to optimize crop output for customers.

• Evaluate operational data to assess and enhance machine performance.

• Lead teams that oversee robotics data management.

• Create user interfaces for customer engagement.

• Collaborate with growers across Canada, Europe, and Australia.

• Occasionally visit customer deployment sites.

• Design remote diagnostics, tooling, and testing systems.

• Troubleshoot and maintain several autonomous machines.

• Operate machines in both laboratory and field settings.

• Contribute to the software stack encompassing perception, control, autonomy, and robotics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with real hardware and robotics.

• Proficient in interfacing with sensors and motor drives.

• Experience in coordinating multiple autonomous systems.

• Skilled in transitioning prototypes into production.

• Knowledge of implementing perception and/or control features.

• Familiarity with stitching depth images, localizing, and generating trajectories.

• Expertise in targeting and tracking objects using vision systems and manipulating them with grippers.

• Understanding of intrinsic and extrinsic calibration within sensor fusion.

• Proficient with modern robotics tools, including simulation, visualization, logging, and frameworks like ROS2.

• Ability to diagnose and update systems remotely and manage robot fleets across various locations.

• Proficient in C++ and Python programming languages.

• Possess broad expertise, determination, curiosity, and a willingness to learn about mushroom agriculture, robotics, and business.

• Eagerness to understand customer needs, products, and operate machines in both test labs and the field.

• Willingness to travel occasionally to the HQ, testing farm, and customer deployment sites.
