This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, journal entries, and financial analyses in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare or review monthly journal entries and interfaces.
• Evaluate accounting procedures and suggest enhancements for improved efficiency and accuracy.
• Compile data for annual reporting, 990 tax returns, and schedules for external or regulatory auditors.
• Analyze actual expenses and revenues compared to budgeted performance and recommend effective resource utilization.
• Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory filings, including DMHC and CMS submissions.
• Produce and communicate accurate monthly financial results while maintaining supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quickly resolve reconciling items.
• Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures to enhance monthly closing and reporting cycles.
• Address accounting and reporting challenges and provide support to new personnel.
• Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and process improvements.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Perform assigned tasks and engage in organizational projects.
• Adhere to safety, P4P’s, HIPAA, and compliance policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in a computerized accounting setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent interpersonal and telephone communication abilities.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and systems necessary to maintain general ledgers and journals and prepare associated financial statements and reports.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications, preferably in a Windows environment.
• Analytical skills for in-depth and detailed examination of accounting issues and systems.
• Capability to organize and prioritize tasks to complete assignments within designated timeframes and maintain workflow.
• Ability to explain intricate accounting and financial concepts to non-financial individuals in a courteous manner.
• Ability to tactfully discuss personal financial matters with physicians and their spouses.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others in a flexible and cooperative manner.
