Senior Revenue Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of revenue recognition across all revenue streams and entities.

• Ensure adherence to AASB 15 / ASC 606 standards.

• Prepare and evaluate month-end revenue journals, accruals, and deferred revenue schedules.

• Analyze new and modified customer contracts for appropriate revenue treatment.

• Evaluate multi-element arrangements and variable consideration.

• Manage revenue-related balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and contract assets and liabilities.

• Collaborate with AR to ensure billing and collections data is accurately reflected in the ledger and reporting.

• Work alongside RevOps, Legal, Commerce, Product, Sales, and Customer Success on pricing strategies, deal structures, and contract terms.

• Assist with audits by preparing revenue schedules and addressing external auditor inquiries.

• Identify and execute process enhancements and automation initiatives.

• Provide technical support to junior accounting staff.

• Contribute to overall month-end closing activities and various finance projects as needed.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in revenue accounting.

⛳️ Requirements

• CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.

• Over 7 years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or auditing.

• Ideally, experience with SaaS or subscription-based revenue models.

• Solid understanding of AASB 15 / ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines.

• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.

• Comfortable operating within an ERP system with incomplete data.

• Ability to establish controls around evolving systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong reconciliation abilities.

• Confident communicator capable of engaging directly with auditors and cross-functional teams.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in a dynamic, high-growth setting.

• Capacity to scrutinize deal structures, processes, or shortcuts that may pose revenue risks.

• Background in Big 4 firms is a plus.

• Familiarity with Stripe or similar billing platforms is beneficial.

• Experience with Campfire or NetSuite is a plus.

• Knowledge of HubSpot deal and quote data is advantageous.

• Proficiency in SQL or Python for querying and reconciling revenue data at scale is a plus.
