This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.
• Analyze customer contracts to establish the appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606.
• Draft technical accounting memoranda that support the conclusions related to revenue.
• Conduct month-end closing procedures, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Assist with the accounting for contract assets, deferred revenue, and contract liabilities.
• Collaborate with various departments to address issues that affect revenue.
• Aid in the accounting and reconciliation processes for Merchant of Record.
• Lead initiatives to enhance processes and reinforce internal controls.
• Provide support during audits and supply necessary documentation.
• 5–8+ years of advancing accounting experience with a strong emphasis on revenue accounting.
• In-depth understanding of ASC 606 and the U.S. GAAP revenue recognition criteria.
• Proven experience in reviewing customer contracts and articulating accounting conclusions for complicated revenue arrangements.
• Established experience in supporting audits within public accounting or corporate accounting settings.
• Strong background in auditing is essential.
• Experience in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closing deliverables, and related schedules.
• Proficient in Excel with the capability to analyze and reconcile extensive datasets.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
• Previous experience in public accounting, particularly with a Big Four or major regional firm, is highly valued.
• Familiarity with eCommerce, marketplace, logistics, fulfillment, SaaS, or technology-enabled services is advantageous.
• Experience managing multiple revenue streams or complex customer arrangements is a plus.
• Knowledge of Business Central (Dynamics 365) or comparable ERP systems is beneficial.
• Participation in process transformation or accounting automation projects is a plus.
• Prior experience in IPO readiness, private equity-backed firms, or high-growth environments is an asset.
• Must possess eligibility to work in the United States.
