Senior Revenue Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the monthly revenue closing processes for DTC, marketplace, wholesale, and other relevant sales channels.

• Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue, reconciliations, rollforward schedules, and variance analyses.

• Reconcile sales, discounts, promotions, refunds, chargebacks, gift cards, shipping revenue, processor settlements, marketplace remittances, and receivables with the general ledger.

• Ensure proper revenue recognition within the appropriate accounting period according to revenue-recognition policies.

• Conduct monthly analyses of net sales, returns, allowances, and deferred revenue.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies across operational systems, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, payment processors, ERP subledgers, and the general ledger.

• Assist with month-end and year-end cutoff procedures.

• Review agreements with customers, marketplaces, distributors, and promotional partners to ensure correct revenue recognition.

• Monitor aged and disputed customer deductions and work closely with the Sales team for timely resolutions.

• Analyze trends in returns, refunds, and deductions to support reserve calculations.

• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Systems teams.

• Act as a key accounting resource for NetSuite revenue workflows, order-to-cash processes, integrations, saved searches, reports, and reconciliation design.

• Assist in system implementations, onboarding new sales channels, ERP configuration changes, data integrations, and user-acceptance testing.

• Automate manual tasks, including reconciliations and chargebacks.

• Maintain documentation for revenue-related internal controls, policies, process narratives, and desktop procedures.

• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, policy documentation, supporting evidence, and technical accounting memos.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

• 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, specifically in revenue accounting, order-to-cash, or e-commerce accounting.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606.

• Experience in high-volume transaction environments, particularly in DTC e-commerce, wholesale, marketplaces, retail, consumer products, or omnichannel businesses.

• Advanced Excel skills are essential.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• This position is remote, available to candidates residing anywhere in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S.

• Standard working hours will align with 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, reporting tools, or data-reconciliation tools is an added advantage.

• Preferred experience in reconciling data from e-commerce platforms, payment processors, marketplaces, fulfillment systems, and/or customer portals.
