Senior Resource Geologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop and validate geological and block models.

• Prepare estimates for mineral resources.

• Assist in technical reporting in line with industry standards, including NI 43-101 and SK-1300.

• Assess geological, drilling, sampling, and assay data.

• Conduct QA/QC reviews and perform model reconciliation.

• Collaborate with geology, mine planning, operations, and engineering teams.

• Provide technical leadership on consulting projects.

• Mentor and support junior geologists.

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of resource estimation practices.

• Aid in business development by fostering client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.

• Represent RESPEC at industry conferences and professional events.

• Participate in recruiting, training, and team development initiatives.

• Support precious metal, base metal, and aggregate projects across North and South America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geology, geostatistics, or a related discipline.

• 3-5 years of experience in mine geology within an operational setting.

• 5-7 years of practical experience in resource modelling and domain estimation.

• Over 10 years of overall experience in geology, particularly focused on resource work.

• Professional designations such as Professional Geologist (P.G) or P.Geo. (Canada) and/or CPG (AIPG).

• Strong expertise in resource estimation, block modelling, and geological interpretation.

• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.

• The role requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel.

• Advanced proficiency in Surpac, MinePlan, Leapfrog, or similar 3D modelling software (Preferred).

• Candidates without advanced degrees are welcome if they can demonstrate a robust portfolio of modelling and estimation experience.
