Senior Research Manager, Farmer Insights, Field Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Create, assess, and expand evidence-driven weather solutions tailored for smallholder farmers.

• Oversee farmer interactions in various states, concentrating on forecast utilization and message development.

• Organize and execute qualitative research with farmers, including interviews, collaborative design sessions, and message evaluation.

• Transform field insights into actionable recommendations and collaborate with use case teams on message and service refinement.

• Regularly disseminate synthesized insights to relevant teams.

• Craft reusable research protocols, discussion frameworks, and field resources.

• Coordinate with weather forecast use case teams to prioritize fieldwork effectively.

• Mentor Associate and Manager-level personnel involved in field operations.

• Aid in both internal and external communications, including reports and presentations.

• Contribute to the collective knowledge management regarding farmer-oriented forecast design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, agricultural economics, public policy, anthropology, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in designing and executing qualitative field research within rural or agricultural communities, particularly in message testing or user research methodologies.

• Established ability to manage logistics for fieldwork across multiple locations or teams simultaneously.

• Strong synthesis capabilities: adept at converting open-ended qualitative data into concise, actionable insights for a program or research team.

• Experience in developing research protocols or materials intended for reuse in various contexts.

• Comfort in collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and technical teams.

• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English.

• Willingness to travel frequently to field locations across states.

• Must have existing authorization to work in India; visa sponsorship is not available.
