This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Assist in the market introduction of new products and the optimization of existing products by evaluating reimbursement requirements, risks, opportunities, and priorities.
• Offer guidance to product development, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical, and business teams on reimbursement-related issues.
• Contribute insights on product strategy, indication expansion, evidence requirements, and readiness for launch.
• Assess reimbursement landscapes in the United States and pertinent international markets.
• Support product development, launches, indication expansions, and continual portfolio management.
• Collaborate with HEPR colleagues to identify and resolve coding, coverage, and payment challenges.
• Provide prompt assistance to both internal teams and external partners.
• Analyze Medicare regulations, policies from commercial payers, coding updates, and changes in reimbursement.
• Communicate implications and suggested actions to relevant stakeholders.
• Aid in formulating advocacy strategies and drafting comments for CMS and commercial payers.
• Spot opportunities to improve payment and access for Pain Interventions therapies.
• Develop and deliver training and educational content for sales representatives, physicians, case managers, medical directors, billing staff, and other stakeholders.
• Convert intricate clinical, technical, coding, coverage, and payment data into actionable information.
• Design and execute internal and external reimbursement communication strategies, tools, resources, and content.
• Leverage approved AI-enabled tools and automation to enhance research, synthesis, drafting, workflow efficiency, and uniformity.
• Collaborate with internal product development teams, patient access support services, field health economic teams, sales, and other cross-functional teams.
• Operate both independently and in collaboration with HEPR and cross-functional team members.
• Report to the Global Program Senior Director for the Pain Interventions business.
• Maintain a strong focus on detail when reviewing reimbursement information, data, policies, communications, and deliverables.
• A bachelor’s degree in health policy, health services, health economics, epidemiology, public administration, or a related field.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical reimbursement, health economics, healthcare coding, market access, or a related field.
• A robust understanding of US reimbursement processes, coding, coverage, payment, and payer/provider interactions.
• Experience in supporting products or therapies at various commercialization stages, including new-product launches, market development, and legacy-product optimization, is preferred.
• Capability to analyze complex data and convert technical or specialized content into clear, concise, and actionable information for non-experts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Independent decision-making and collaboration across functions.
• Familiarity with approved AI tools, automation, and digital productivity technologies.
• Judiciousness in validating AI outputs and using tools responsibly and in compliance.
• Comfort in working virtually through collaborative tools.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree that meets the criteria of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
