This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Prepare or review third-party financial accounting, contractual allowances, cost reports, and surveys for designated facilities and centralized office functions independently.
• Conduct and assess reimbursement processes, including the reconciliation of third-party general ledger accounts, calculations of contractual allowances and variances, and monitoring of individual claims.
• Collaborate with HIM, PAS, and hospital finance personnel as necessary.
• Generate monthly calculations for Medicare and Medicaid settlements and policy reserves.
• Prepare or review cost reports and surveys, audit adjustments, and settlements.
• Submit appeals and exception requests to optimize reimbursement.
• Engage with Medicare Administrative Contractors, State Medicaid, and hospital staff.
• Mentor employees and coordinate training, guidance, and reviews for reimbursement activities.
• Oversee work scope, deadlines, deliverables, complex projects, schedules, and meetings.
• Develop, document, and update system design procedures, testing protocols, and quality standards.
• Research reimbursement changes and convey potential impacts.
• Communicate with site and system financial leaders regarding essential financial variables that require detailed analysis.
• Proven experience in a position that necessitates data analysis.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and the Internet.
• Demonstrated background in third-party financial accounting, contractual allowances, cost reports, and surveys.
• A preferred bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field from an accredited institution.
• Preferred two years of experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and/or governmental reporting.
• Capability to work standard business hours from Monday through Friday, with occasional additional hours during peak regulatory filing periods, audits, settlements, budget season, or other critical reimbursement deadlines.
• Ability to adhere to applicable Intermountain policies, confidentiality standards, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and equipment requirements.
• Candidates must not live or plan to live in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington; Colorado remote caregivers are restricted when their assigned Intermountain facility or service area is not located in Colorado.
