This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the organization's records management program, ensuring that business and mission records are properly identified, scheduled, captured, and preserved in accordance with federal law and DoD policy.
• Create, implement, and annually revise records management standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
• Develop and sustain a records management plan for the transfer, accessioning, and disposal of permanent electronic records.
• Lead the execution of records transfer activities to the appropriate federal archival authority.
• Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments, document any gaps found, and suggest corrective measures.
• Collaborate with the Government Records Manager and relevant stakeholders to design user-friendly records management systems and workflows.
• Perform user research to pinpoint issues and enhance compliance processes.
• Oversee archiving and digital preservation, including secure storage, metadata tagging and indexing, and backup/disaster recovery practices.
• Ensure that archived and published content remains tamper-proof, verifiable, and retained according to relevant schedules.
• Audit archiving, access control, and publishing workflows.
• Establish and enforce access control, permissions, and audit-trail practices.
• Integrate records considerations into digital strategy, content governance, and reporting.
• Provide records-related compliance and status reports, presenting findings to Government stakeholders.
• Offer subject-matter expertise and training to content and digital teams.
• Carry out other relevant duties as qualified or trained.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• BA/BS in Information Science, Library/Archival Studies, Records Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in records information management, including electronic records management within a federal or DoD setting.
• Proficient understanding of federal records management law, DoD recordkeeping policy, and archival transfer/accessioning procedures.
• Experience in developing and maintaining records management SOPs, retention schedules, and compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with working in a content management system (CMS) environment and coordinating with cross-functional content and digital teams.
• Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing compliance and governance reports for government stakeholders.
• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of cloud-hosted content environments and related backup and disaster recovery controls is a plus.
