This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee organization-wide records management initiatives for social media, web content, digital communications, and multimedia records.
• Ensure adherence to DoDI 5015.02, federal records laws, and NARA guidelines.
• Maintain and revise records retention and disposition schedules for all directorates.
• Create compliance reports, dashboards, and metrics for leadership review.
• Administer workflows for permanent records, including identification, capture, preservation, and preparation for NARA submission.
• Collaborate with legal, cybersecurity, content governance, and IT departments on record creation, storage, and lifecycle management processes.
• Evaluate digital artifacts for metadata, tagging, and classification accuracy.
• Supervise documentation and standard operating procedures for the governance of digital records.
• Assist with internal audits, readiness evaluations, and compliance inspections.
• Provide training to program staff regarding records handling and retention protocols.
• Consult with PMO and O&E teams on practices for compliant record capture in digital platforms.
• Ensure secure and organized repositories with long-term accessibility for historical or permanent record collections.
• Must possess an active Secret clearance, supported by a Tier 3 background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Library/Archival Studies, Records Management, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in records management, archival science, or digital information governance.
• Proven experience in applying federal records management regulations, including DoDI 5015.02 and NARA standards.
• Demonstrated experience in leading retention, disposition, and workflows for permanent records.
• Background in preparing records for NARA transfer and generating compliance documentation.
• Experience in supporting large-scale digital or web records programs.
• Extensive knowledge of federal and DoD records management regulations, compliance frameworks, and documentation standards.
• Familiarity with metadata schemas, classification standards, and practices for digital preservation.
• Experience with records management systems, content repositories, or archival tools.
• Strong organizational and documentation capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey compliance requirements to non-technical personnel.
• Capability to manage complex workflows and coordinate efforts across multiple teams.
• Analytical skills to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective measures.
• Comprehensive understanding of best practices in digital recordkeeping and preservation standards.
• Preferred: Experience in federal or DoD settings.
• Preferred: Knowledge of web content management systems, social media archival tools, or digital asset management systems.
• Preferred: Insight into the intersection of information governance, cybersecurity, and data management.
