Senior React Native Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain high-performance applications using React Native.

• Produce scalable and maintainable TypeScript code while adhering to engineering best practices.

• Enhance application architecture, performance, reliability, and overall developer experience.

• Manage React Native version upgrades, dependency management, and framework migrations.

• Create, maintain, and troubleshoot native iOS modules utilizing Swift and Kotlin.

• Integrate native platform APIs into React Native applications seamlessly.

• Identify and resolve issues related to native dependencies and bridge failures.

• Collaborate with Android engineers for required native integrations.

• Take ownership of automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Develop dependable CI/CD pipelines to avert regressions prior to release.

• Advocate for code quality through reviews, mentoring, and adherence to engineering standards.

• Minimize technical debt while enhancing long-term maintainability.

• Formulate systematic testing strategies across various Android devices, screen sizes, and OS versions.

• Enhance release stability via automation, monitoring, and quality assurance measures.

• Optimize performance, memory usage, rendering, and responsiveness of applications.

• Investigate production issues employing structured debugging techniques.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and QA within a cross-functional team.

• Assist in defining technical solutions during product discovery phases.

• Contribute to architectural discussions throughout the Engineering team.

• Mentor fellow engineers and advocate for best engineering practices across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building production-level React Native applications.

• Proven experience in supporting large-scale, consumer-centric mobile applications with substantial production usage.

• Experience in established engineering organizations, typically with 50+ employees, where mature engineering processes such as code reviews, CI/CD, and structured release management are practiced.

• Expert understanding of React Native architecture and performance enhancement techniques.

• Proficient in TypeScript.

• Strong experience with Swift, particularly in building and debugging native modules and bridges.

• Experience in Kotlin or Android native development.

• Skilled in managing React Native version upgrades, dependency updates, and ensuring native package compatibility.

• Familiar with tools like patch-package for resolving native library conflicts.

• Solid grasp of React state management, including Redux, React Query, Zustand, or Context.

• Experience in designing and maintaining automated test suites using tools like Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, or similar.

• Proficient in working with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and Postman.

• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Experience utilizing AI development tools while retaining sound engineering judgment.

• Preferred: experience in developing custom native bridges.

• Preferred: familiarity with publishing and supporting applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

• Preferred: experience supporting applications with hundreds of thousands or millions of users.

• Preferred: experience with monitoring and crash reporting tools like Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.
