Senior Quality Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Report to the VP of Quality.

• Take ownership of the systems, data, and compliance framework that supports RYZE's manufacturing and co-manufacturer network.

• Redesign and streamline essential quality processes across DTC, mass retail, and the upcoming cross-category launch.

• Identify system deficiencies and propose straightforward, efficient, operationally-centered quality solutions; advocate for process adoption.

• Manage the product launch quality system and establish a finished-good specification framework that encompasses blend controls, ingredient ordering, quality checks, sensory panels, packaging, and testing.

• Verify co-manufacturer Quality Manager KPIs and assist with quarterly senior co-manufacturer visits alongside the VP of Quality.

• Prepare the monthly Quality performance report, which includes CPMU, NCRs, and other key metrics, while acting as the department's data leader.

• Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities, retailers, and senior teams involved with raw materials, ensuring adherence to FSMA and relevant FDA and state regulations.

• Evaluate the current Qualio system and spearhead the simplification of Quality and Process, providing support to co-manufacturer Quality Managers throughout the process and regulatory team.

• Lead the Crisis/Incident Management plan and coordinate the resolution of quality incidents promptly and systematically.

• Oversee the sign-off and management of change control for formulation adjustments and label revisions, ensuring thorough risk assessment and cross-functional communication.

• Collaborate with the Raw Material Manager to evaluate raw material risks, create the audit schedule, and enhance specifications, COAs, and supplier quality questionnaires.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Quality/Food Safety within the food or beverage manufacturing sector, including exposure to chilled, ambient, and/or frozen categories.

• Extensive understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 117, FSMA, and dietary supplement/food regulatory frameworks, with direct experience managing regulatory inquiries.

• Demonstrated ability to manage quality performance across a multi-site co-manufacturer network, including oversight of supplier/co-man KPI and conducting on-site audits.

• Practical experience with eQMS platforms and a proven history of simplifying quality systems and document control without compromising compliance.

• Strong analytical and data-driven approach to quality decision-making, with comfort in developing reports and trends based on complaints, NCR, and audit data.

• Experience in leading crisis/incident management and recall programs, maintaining a calm and structured demeanor under pressure.
