This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create, develop, and sustain scalable automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Design and implement thorough testing strategies for applications, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with Product, Engineering, and Delivery teams to guarantee high-quality releases.
• Establish, monitor, and evaluate quality metrics to enhance systems and processes continuously.
• Promote best practices in test automation, CI/CD, and quality engineering.
• Conduct exploratory and risk-based testing to identify edge cases and enhance system resilience.
• Assist in documenting business rules, systems, and testing methodologies.
• Support development teams in bug investigation, including reporting, reproduction, and isolation.
• Actively engage in the Agile software development lifecycle within a cross-functional team.
• Mentor and support team members to advance quality engineering as a field.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems that drive the courier network.
• Report directly to the Technology Manager.
• Over 5 years of experience in software testing and quality engineering.
• Proficient in automated testing with JavaScript and/or Java is essential.
• Practical experience with tools like Playwright, Appium, or comparable frameworks is required.
• Previous experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems is crucial.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployment platforms.
• Extensive experience with event-driven architectures such as Apache Kafka, pub/sub systems, and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like RestAssured.
• Familiarity with load and performance testing tools (e.g., K6) is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of test automation design patterns and best practices.
• Proven experience working in Agile, fast-paced, continuous delivery environments.
• Comfortable using Git-based version control systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) is a must.
• Knowledge of Google BigQuery is a plus.
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar is required.
• Experience incorporating AI into testing processes.
• Understanding of prompt engineering and evaluation of AI-generated outputs within a software engineering context.
• Awareness of best practices for AI-driven testing, focusing on reliability, reproducibility, and governance.
• Ability to work in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, or remotely in Ontario.
