Senior Quality Assurance Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and uphold automated unit, integration, and end-to-end functional testing scripts.

• Guarantee that automated test cases are ready for execution by the conclusion of each Agile sprint and are delivered to the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline.

• Collaborate with software developers to write test cases prior to code development following TDD practices.

• Evaluate test automation coverage and assist in the preparation of the Test Automation State Assessment Report and automation completion plan.

• Automate existing test cases to enhance regression coverage across the DEERS application portfolio.

• Create and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices at the conclusion of each sprint.

• Aid in the development of UAT plans, scenarios, and scripts for acceptance testing by the Government and external partners.

• Record test activities, results, and defects in the Government-provided Test Case Management System.

• Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions.

• Engage in code reviews at 50%, 75%, and 90% completion checkpoints of development.

• Monitor and uphold quality thresholds.

• Manage and track defects in JIRA, reproduce errors, and facilitate escalation reporting.

• Assist with security scanning utilizing Fortify, Sonatype, and BURP.

• Review and document code scan outcomes before production releases and when rule packs or STIGs are modified.

• Perform WCAG 2.0 Level AA and Section 508 accessibility testing and assist in VPAT preparation.

• Support stress and load testing within the ProdSim environment.

• Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing with technical and operational teams.

• Support IV&V of application modifications in UAT prior to production deployment.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Track sprint defects, test completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA.

• Comply with deployment pipeline standards and quality gates.

• Contribute QA metrics and status updates to the Monthly Quality Status Report.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; 7 years with a Ph.D.; or 16 years with a high school diploma.

• Must obtain and maintain public trust clearance.

• IAM/IAT Level II certification: CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CompTIA CySA+, or GSEC.

• Proven experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles.

• Proficient in writing automated test scripts using at least one automation framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps principles.

• Basic knowledge of defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA.

• Understanding of unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

• Capability to document test results in a clear and accurate manner.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, leads, and Government stakeholders.

• Preferred: ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.

• Preferred: Familiarity with TDD practices.

• Preferred: Exposure to Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP.

• Preferred: Experience with Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing.

• Preferred: Familiarity with ServiceNow.

• Preferred: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration.

• Preferred: Exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL.

• Preferred: Previous experience in DoD or Federal government IT programs.
