Business Analyst, QA Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Gather, document, and manage business and functional requirements from stakeholders.

• Convert requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.

• Ensure requirement traceability from business needs to test coverage.

• Conduct requirement walkthroughs and obtain sign-offs from stakeholders and development teams.

• Oversee QA strategy for designated products and features from planning to release.

• Create and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements.

• Lead both manual and automated testing throughout functional, regression, integration, and UAT cycles.

• Monitor and report defects, facilitate triage, and ensure prompt resolution with development teams.

• Establish and track quality metrics, including defect density, test coverage, and escape rate.

• Serve as the quality gatekeeper for release readiness.

• Develop and maintain automated UI, API, and/or regression test scripts.

• Identify high-value candidates for automation and enhance automation coverage.

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines when applicable.

• Assess and recommend automation tools and frameworks.

• Engage in Agile/Scrum sprint ceremonies, including standups, planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and reviews.

• Draft and refine user stories and acceptance criteria in the backlog.

• Manage and organize JIRA boards, including epics, stories, sprints, workflows, and reporting.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to align on scope, timelines, and quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in a combined BA/QA or QA Lead role.

• Proven experience in writing and managing requirements documentation and test cases.

• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman/RestAssured, or similar).

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.

• Advanced proficiency in JIRA (workflow configuration, dashboards, reporting) and Confluence (or equivalent).

• Experience managing the complete test lifecycle: planning, case design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to independently lead QA activities and mentor team members.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States and have resided in the US for three or more consecutive years.

• Must be able and willing to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with API testing and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, DevOps, etc.).

• Preferred: Previous experience in federal, healthcare, or AWS environments.

• Familiarity with SQL for data validation is a plus.
