Senior QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee quality initiatives for products that assist healthcare providers, patient workflows, and diagnostic reporting.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure quality throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Examine business requirements, architecture, interfaces, integrations, and dependencies to formulate thorough, risk-based testing strategies.

• Establish and enhance quality standards, testing practices, and processes across various teams.

• Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, cases, and relevant documentation.

• Conduct both manual and automated testing for web and mobile applications, covering exploratory, functional, acceptance, regression, end-to-end, and UI testing.

• Define and improve test automation standards and coverage.

• Test REST APIs and backend services to ensure accuracy, reliability, and resilience.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and monitor defects and quality risks until they are resolved.

• Lead root cause analysis sessions with engineers to address defects and prevent future occurrences.

• Communicate test strategies, quality risks, release readiness, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Drive tangible improvements for systemic quality and process challenges through to completion.

• Mentor engineers and team members on quality practices and shared responsibility.

• Incorporate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

• Assess web and mobile applications against accessibility standards, including WCAG.

• Contribute to performance and security testing based on product risks and team requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.

• Proven success in leading quality initiatives across cross-functional and partner teams.

• Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and risk-based testing for complex systems.

• Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies, client-server architecture, APIs, integrations, and system dependencies.

• Practical experience in testing native or cross-platform mobile applications on iOS and Android across various devices, operating system versions, screen sizes, and network conditions.

• Direct experience in testing REST APIs and backend services.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.

• Experience in developing or enhancing test automation frameworks, standards, coverage, reliability, and maintainability.

• Familiarity with modern web or mobile automation frameworks and integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.

• Knowledge of accessibility testing and standards such as WCAG, with experience using tools like Axe, Lighthouse, or screen readers.

• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools like Jira in an Agile development environment.

• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

• Proven track record of implementing cross-functional quality or process improvements through to completion.

• Experience mentoring both technical and non-technical colleagues, building quality capabilities across teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire; must not require current or future employer sponsorship for a work visa.
