Senior QA Automation Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Qatar.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain automated test cases and testing scenarios.

• Create automated tests primarily utilizing Python.

• Maintain and enhance a BDD test automation framework built on Behave.

• Conduct API and integration tests, including those utilizing gRPC-based communication.

• Utilize Playwright with Python for both end-to-end and API testing.

• Establish and uphold regression and smoke integration test suites.

• Examine failed automated tests, investigate underlying issues, and create defect reports when necessary.

• Develop and refine test clients, mocks, and related automation tools.

• Generate and maintain test data and testing environments.

• Review and enhance existing test automation code.

• Collaborate effectively with developers, Test Automation Engineers, and Software Requirement Leads.

• Evaluate testability and challenge acceptance criteria when applicable.

• Execute automated tests both locally and via CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with mocked APIs and hardware components as part of the testing setup.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Python for test automation.

• Robust experience in Test Automation within Agile development teams.

• Significant experience in API and integration testing.

• Familiarity with Protocol Buffers and gRPC.

• Strong hands-on experience with Docker, preferably including Docker Compose.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks.

• Solid understanding of test design, regression testing, and defect analysis.

• Proficient in Git-based development workflows.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with BDD/TDD methodologies, preferably using Behave (nice to have).

• Familiarity with Playwright using Python (nice to have).

• Experience with GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines (nice to have).

• Background in mocking services, APIs, or hardware components (nice to have).

• Knowledge of OPC UA (nice to have).

• Experience with VS Code, WSL2, and DevContainers (nice to have).

• Shell scripting experience (nice to have).
