Senior QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the comprehensive test strategy encompassing unit, integration, end-to-end, extraction-regression, data-isolation, and UI testing.

• Manage regression testing for the AI-assisted document extraction pipeline utilizing known documents and anticipating structured results.

• Oversee row-level security and multi-tenant data-isolation testing at the PostgreSQL database level, including queries that circumvent the application layer.

• Ensure end-to-end browser test coverage for case intake, review, packet generation, and administrative workflows.

• Utilize Playwright and Puppeteer for browser testing and validation of packet/PDF output.

• Establish testing standards for engineering feature development.

• Evaluate pull-request test coverage as a senior engineer would assess code.

• Manage the generation of synthetic test data with realistic edge cases while avoiding the use of real, non-de-identified PHI.

• Present test coverage and decisions regarding the definition of tests to compliance stakeholders for approval.

• Act as the primary authority on testing and quality-related inquiries, escalating significant business or release-timing decisions to the CTO.

• Collaborate with the technical stack that includes Vitest, React Testing Library, pytest, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure DevOps pipelines, as well as HIPAA and SOC 2 Type 2 standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in QA automation.

• Proven experience in establishing a test practice from the ground up in an organization lacking a defined QA structure.

• Demonstrated ownership of test strategy and tooling decisions.

• Hands-on experience in production with Playwright or a similar modern end-to-end framework.

• Familiarity with Puppeteer is advantageous for document/PDF validation.

• Strong SQL capabilities and the ability to write and analyze raw queries against PostgreSQL.

• Experience with contemporary frontend testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or equivalent.

• Background with backend testing frameworks such as pytest or similar.

• Ability to design tests for deterministic data-transformation challenges, including validation of AI/ML pipeline outputs and financial or structured data reconciliation.

• Practical experience utilizing AI tools to generate, expand, or enhance test coverage.

• Working knowledge of healthcare data compliance or a capacity to quickly adapt with support from an internal compliance team.

• Capability to serve as the senior authority on quality without a QA team above.

• A background in healthcare or fintech is beneficial.

• Familiarity with HIPAA and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance standards.
