Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Georgia, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes from intricate websites, ensuring thorough coverage, precision, and dependable delivery of structured datasets.

• Utilize available tools and customized workflows to expedite data collection, validation, and task execution while adhering to specified requirements.

• Guarantee reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources, modifying strategies for JavaScript-rendered content and evolving site behavior.

• Uphold data quality standards through validation checks, cross-source consistency controls, formatting requirements, and systematic verification prior to delivery.

• Enhance scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Track failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structure.

• Utilize web scraping, data extraction, and data processing skills with tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other relevant technologies.

• Work autonomously to resolve complex technical challenges and troubleshoot scraping workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5+ years of pertinent experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).

• Extensive experience in Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or equivalent), including handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs through proxies.

• Proven capability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong foundation in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, producing structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience in managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site architectures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) in real-world workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Keen attention to detail and dedication to maintaining data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.

• A link to GitHub is a plus.
