Senior Proposal Writer – Aerospace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Develop strategies, design, and compose technical proposals for Astrobotic's commercial spacecraft delivery services and spacecraft systems.

• Create technically sound, persuasive, and competitive aerospace proposals aimed at NASA, the Department of Defense, and various government and civilian customers.

• Produce original proposal content, including product descriptions, technical specifications, and performance requirements.

• Formulate proposal win themes, storyboards, and strategic narrative techniques.

• Compose executive summaries and other essential sections of proposals.

• Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to obtain technical information and integrate it into proposals.

• Evaluate technical documentation and transform it into polished, credible proposal content.

• Collaborate with graphic designers to produce engaging visual representations of technical information.

• Compile, review, and edit proposals for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.

• Revise proposal content based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide mentorship to other technical writers on the team.

• Candidates with a technical background may assist in engineering technical solutions included in proposals.

• Operate under the supervision of the Director of Proposal Development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, such as engineering, physical sciences, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry or a related domain.

• Fundamental understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles.

• Previous experience in crafting competitive proposals for funding opportunities.

• Creativity in conveying technical subjects through both written content and graphics.

• High-level strategic thinking skills to create engaging technical narratives.

• Strong critical thinking abilities to identify and rectify technical, logical, and other discrepancies.

• Exceptional writing skills, including a solid grasp of grammar, structure, tone, and brevity.

• Capacity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Keen attention to detail and outstanding organizational capabilities.

• Strong motivation to deliver results, enhance processes, and achieve success.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines across overlapping projects.

• Candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person: a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

• Candidates must be eligible to secure any necessary export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.

• Preferred: prior experience as a systems engineer, program manager, or project manager in the aerospace sector.

• Preferred: in-depth knowledge of spacecraft systems and engineering concepts.

• Preferred: experience in writing proposals for NASA or the Department of Defense.
