This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Deliver configuration management, change management, and technical documentation expertise for a significant Federal Government client.
• Ensure the accuracy, control, and traceability of technical information throughout the project's lifecycle.
• Identify, manage, document, audit, and report on the status of configuration items.
• Maintain comprehensive records for hardware, software, system configurations, documentation, and deliverables.
• Develop and refine technical processes, configuration standards, baselines, and procedures.
• Support change-control processes while maintaining associated documentation and traceability.
• Maintain and support centralized CMDB information in alignment with ITSM practices.
• Coordinate configuration management activities among technical and project teams.
• Conduct documentation reviews and quality-control activities to ensure the accuracy of technical artifacts.
• Travel may be necessary for meetings, training, presentations, or briefings with project stakeholders.
• Capability to obtain and maintain the necessary VA background investigation/suitability determination and system access.
• Certification in one or more of the IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III categories.
• Relevant Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in an IT-related field, such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, or Information Resource Management.
• IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certifications may replace a relevant Bachelor's degree or 4 years of pertinent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of IT experience.
• At least 3 years of Configuration Management/Technical Editing experience in a large corporation or Government agency comparable in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD, or VA.
• A Master's degree in a related IT field may count for up to 2 years of the required experience.
• Proficiency in project management or experience in a project-oriented environment.
• Understanding of the role of configuration management within the overall project lifecycle.
• Experience in configuration/change management and technical documentation within IT or software development settings.
• Familiarity with ITSM practices and centralized CMDBs.
• Preferred: Experience with VA/Federal technical documentation.
• Preferred: ITIL certification.
• Preferred: Experience with automated configuration or compliance tracking tools.
