Senior Project Manager, Real Estate Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee capital construction projects from inception to completion, which includes industrial distribution centers, warehouse expansions, office renovations, and infrastructure enhancements.

• Assess greenfield locations for potential development, taking into account constructability, site development expenses, existing infrastructure, and necessary entitlements.

• Create project scopes, timelines, budgets, cost estimates, and execution strategies that align with business needs.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, furniture suppliers, and specialty vendors throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Supervise design reviews, permitting, procurement, bidding, construction phases, commissioning, occupancy, and project closeout.

• Track project budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and change orders consistently.

• Recognize project risks and devise mitigation strategies.

• Organize project meetings and deliver regular status updates and executive summaries to stakeholders and leadership.

• Develop and uphold communication plans for stakeholders.

• Act as the primary communication point for assigned projects on a day-to-day basis.

• Collaborate with Operations, Facilities, Safety, Security, and business leaders to reduce disruptions and ensure operational readiness.

• Evaluate the performance of contractors and consultants, monitor deliverables, and guarantee compliance with contracts and company standards.

• Cultivate relationships with business leaders, site management, functional partners, and external providers.

• Ensure adherence to building codes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and McKesson policies.

• Promote continuous improvement in project management processes, project controls, and supplier performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing commercial, industrial, distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, healthcare, or large-scale corporate facility projects.

• Proven experience in leading construction projects from the planning and design phase through to occupancy and closeout.

• Experience in managing capital budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and change management procedures.

• Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods, contracting strategies, building systems, permitting, and project controls.

• Experience overseeing external project management firms, architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.

• Proficiency in using Procore, ACC, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to prepare clear written updates, facilitate alignment among diverse stakeholder groups, and present project risks, trade-offs, decisions, and recommendations to senior management.

• Ability to influence without direct authority, manage competing stakeholder priorities, and maintain open communication during high-pressure or time-sensitive project situations.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Real Estate, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.

• An MBA is preferred but not mandatory.

• PMP, CCM, LEED, PE, or equivalent professional certifications are preferred but not required.

• Willingness to travel to distribution centers and job sites as needed, averaging twice a month.
