Senior Project Manager – Pulp, Power & Recovery Capital Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Effectively oversee multiple capital projects ranging from $15MM to over $150MM throughout their entire lifecycle (P0–P6).

• Create and sustain comprehensive project plans that encompass scope, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

• Lead interdisciplinary teams that include engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, safety, and construction.

• Promote alignment among internal stakeholders and external partners; ensure that all parties are unified on project requirements, scope, and deliverables.

• Propel the development of Front-End Loading (FEL) and ensure readiness for execution (P0-P3).

• Maintain alignment with mill and business leadership.

• Coordinate project reviews, status updates, executive briefings, and communications with stakeholders.

• Supervise detailed design, contractor management, outage execution, and startup processes (P4-P6).

• Guarantee compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

• Manage and regulate changes to objectives and scope.

• Deliver projects that fulfill business cases and meet performance expectations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or a related field).

• Over 10 years of progressive project management experience, including at least 6 years focusing on capital equipment or significant construction/capital projects.

• Proven experience managing projects exceeding $15 million.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engineering and construction teams.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies within a phase-gate framework.

• Willingness to travel at least 80% to facilitate project development, execution, outages, startups, and mill engagement.
