Operations Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee and execute digital and operational enhancement projects throughout the Paper Bags manufacturing network.

• Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence efforts, focusing on waste minimization and supporting the Mondi Management System.

• Spearhead digitalization initiatives from initial planning to implementation and subsequent follow-up.

• Manage digital projects aligned with the Plant of the Future roadmap.

• Encourage the adoption of innovative digital solutions throughout the organization.

• Identify opportunities for performance enhancement in collaboration with plant and Operations leaders.

• Disseminate best practices across the manufacturing network.

• Conduct analyses of operational KPIs and relevant data.

• Create dashboards and comprehensive reports.

• Assist in benchmarking activities and convert data into actionable insights.

• Cultivate relationships with plant teams, Operations, IT, and other stakeholders.

• Facilitate project budgeting, performance reporting, knowledge sharing, and Paper Bags Operations initiatives and events.

• Serve as Super Key and Deputy Business Process Owner for DACO, the Mondi Paper Bags Order Management Platform.

• Lead and engage in DACO system developments, change requests, incidents, and user support.

• Undertake a temporary role at a Paper Bags plant covering Production/operations-related functions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in project management, operational excellence, continuous improvement, manufacturing transformation, or a related discipline.

• Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, plant operations, and industrial settings.

• Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and implement initiatives from concept to execution.

• In-depth knowledge of digitalization and technology-driven improvements, preferably in a manufacturing context.

• Familiarity with operational KPIs, data analysis, dashboards, or performance management.

• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to convert complex data into clear insights and actionable business recommendations.

• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities across various functions, countries, and organizational boundaries.

• Methodical and practical approach to project management, with strong follow-up skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

• A proactive and innovative mindset.

• Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficient in English; proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel internationally about 25–50% of the time.

• Preferred: expertise or education in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, or CI project management.

• Preferred: experience in IWS, Process Engineering, or Production/Operations roles in manufacturing, especially in packaging.
