This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +10 more states.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous, cross-functional projects of significant complexity while adhering to the approved scope, timeline, budget, quality, and benefits targets.
• Steer projects through various phases including intake, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, implementation, adoption, and closure.
• Create project charters that outline objectives, scope, deliverables, governance, decision-making rights, success metrics, assumptions, and constraints.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, dependency maps, and milestone forecasts.
• Implement governance structures and apply appropriate methodologies such as waterfall, hybrid, systems development lifecycle, agile, or scrum.
• Facilitate the gathering of requirements and maintain essential documentation including business requirements, use cases, gap analyses, design documents, communication plans, test plans, implementation strategies, and transition materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and changes; take corrective measures and escalate issues when outcomes are jeopardized.
• Prepare status reports and executive updates that encompass project progress, financial health, risks, decisions, and necessary actions.
• Construct and oversee project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting in collaboration with sponsors and financial stakeholders.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to secure resources, address capacity issues and competing priorities, and uphold delivery commitments.
• Develop comprehensive communication, engagement, training, adoption, and reinforcement strategies alongside sponsors and change leaders.
• Ensure operational readiness and smooth transition to business and technology owners, including support models, knowledge transfer, documentation, and training.
• Assist with requests for proposals, vendor assessment, selection, contracting, and delivery oversight.
• Define roles and responsibilities, facilitate decision-making, resolve conflicts, and drive accountability without direct authority.
• Provide advice on project strategy, roadmaps, governance, and measurable business value.
• Act as a project management subject matter expert and trusted advisor.
• Mentor and coach less-experienced project managers.
• Contribute to the Project Management Community of Practice.
• Suggest enhancements to PMO standards, templates, methodologies, tools, and governance practices.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, information technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
• Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in project management.
• Proven track record of successfully leading increasingly complex, cross-functional projects.
• Advanced understanding of project management methodologies, governance practices, and the complete project lifecycle.
• Experience in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, issues, changes, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
• Proficiency in widely used project management tools, templates, reporting practices, and collaboration platforms.
• Exceptional written, verbal, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and personal accountability.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on disciplined execution.
• Ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
• Strong consultative skills for stakeholder partnership and relationship development.
• Good judgment in unclear, rapidly changing environments.
• Collaborative conflict resolution skills and empathetic listening abilities.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, curiosity, and receptiveness to constructive feedback.
• Flexibility in adapting delivery methods to suit the initiative and organizational context.
