Senior Project Manager – Nature-based Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Assume technical leadership of a diverse and active portfolio focused on Nature-based Solutions.

• Lead projects from the feasibility stage all the way to credit issuance.

• Oversee Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) initiatives in Africa.

• Manage mangrove restoration efforts in Southeast Asia.

• Direct a large-scale regenerative agriculture program.

• Collaborate directly with project developers, field partners, investors, and carbon standards organizations.

• Convert project ideas into structured work plans.

• Establish deliverables and coordinate both internal teams and external partners.

• Handle deadlines effectively and provide clear progress updates in relation to agreed targets.

• Respond to findings from Validation and Verification Bodies (VVB) during project validation.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in carbon project development, with a solid technical foundation in Nature-based Solutions.

• Practical experience with Verra methodologies, especially VM0047.

• Hands-on project experience utilizing VM0033 and/or VM0042.

• Established track record in developing Project Design Documents (PDDs) that have successfully passed validation.

• Direct accountability for addressing findings from Validation and Verification Bodies (VVB).

• Strong capabilities in carbon modeling, including the creation of ex-ante carbon estimates, defining conservative baseline and project scenarios, and substantiating key assumptions.

• Familiarity with major carbon standards and NbS methodologies, including Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, and Isometric.

• Understanding of project registration and validation timelines, crediting-period requirements, and regulations concerning retroactive project start dates.

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in French is a plus.
