Senior Project Manager – IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Direct a portfolio of four critical digital transformation projects for Ministry clients

• Supervise the migration of ADX Studio to Microsoft Power Pages and Dataverse, which includes planning, architecture configuration, user story formulation, workflow design, UAT, change management, and deployment

• Lead the Natural Gas Royalty-in-Kind initiative across MRIS, Intel ESG, Petrinex, and CARS focusing on physical volume tracking, volumetric reconciliation, and financial integration

• Spearhead the modernization of the Bitumen Royalty In-Kind Regulatory Backstop across ETS, OASIS, CARS, RFM, and EAD, encompassing operationalizing manual processes and achieving full automation

• Oversee the modernization of the Enhanced Hydrocarbon Recovery Program across application intake, approval workflows, eligibility evaluations, royalty calculation engines, credit management, and compliance reporting

• Coordinate and execute IT projects from start to finish

• Set timelines, delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure project goals are accomplished

• Maintain collaborative relationships with project teams, vendors, and partners across departments

• Provide updates on progress and prepare reports for senior management

• Assemble project charters and business/project plans

• Formulate recommendations regarding resources, dependencies, policy implications, and methodologies

• Lead or facilitate risk and impact evaluations and engage stakeholders for risk assessment

• Generate deliverables for internal support teams, steering committees, and project stakeholders

• Create and oversee project budgets, track forecasts against actual spending, monitor discrepancies, and report on financial status

• Manage projects, resources, and governance

• Ensure efficient project communication and escalate risks when necessary

• Foster client relationships and resolve challenges to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes

• Develop project plans outlining objectives, scope, assumptions, timelines, resources, risks, benefits, and budgets

• Establish project organization structures with clearly defined stakeholder roles and responsibilities

• Report on project status concerning objectives, milestones, budget, and resources; facilitate tracking and resolution of issues and risks

• Develop schedules, estimate resource needs, monitor work plans, and implement corrective actions

• Guide project resources in prioritizing and executing tasks

• Create requirements documentation as necessary

• Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for future improvements

• Provide leadership and support for change management and communications

• Apply project management office standards and assist in defining new standards as required

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven Project Manager with experience in leading high-priority digital transformation initiatives

• Experience in coordinating and delivering IT projects from inception to completion

• Skilled in managing multiple projects, project resources, governance, budgets, schedules, risks, issues, and stakeholders

• Proficient in documenting business requirements and delivering IT solutions that comply with enterprise architecture

• Familiarity with cybersecurity, modernization of legacy infrastructure, system integration, and data, portal, or application migration

• Experience with ADX Studio/CRM Dynamics to Power Applications/Dataverse migrations

• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Power Pages and Dataverse

• Experience with tracking physical commodities, volumetric reconciliation, financial integration, or royalty systems

• Capable of preparing project charters, business/project plans, status reports, risk assessments, recommendations, requirements documentation, and project schedules

• Experience in change management and communication support

• Ability to establish timelines, assign tasks, track progress, estimate resource needs, monitor work plans, and take corrective measures

• Proficient in collaborating with project sponsors, project management offices, business and IT leadership, vendors, cross-departmental partners, steering committees, and stakeholders

• Capable of tracking forecast versus actual spending and reporting financial status

• Able to interpret findings from risk/impact assessments and provide actionable recommendations

• Strong ability to maintain client satisfaction and manage peer-level client relationships
