This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with critical projects centered on the development of automation systems, power management systems, control integration, and intelligent building solutions.
• Offer technical and project leadership for the planning and design of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Power Management Systems (PMS), and integrated control systems.
• Create and uphold standards for DLB controls, BAS, EPMS, and specifications.
• Supervise the scopes of work for subconsultants, including statements of objectives, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate subconsultant deliverables for completeness, accuracy, project alignment, and compliance with codes and regulations through the DLB QA/QC process.
• Collaborate with project teams and external partners to ensure scope compliance, quality, and timely project delivery.
• Generate and manage design drawings, operational sequences, and specifications.
• Assist in producing engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, such as floor plans, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams, and control panel diagrams.
• Coordinate BAS-related tasks with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades.
• Identify potential changes in scope and devise strategies to mitigate costs and schedule impacts.
• Manage project deliverables when not acting as the lead design engineer.
• Collaborate with the BIM team to develop and document BAS and EPMS production standards and specification sections.
• Review standards and provide training, guidance, and support for implementation to staff.
• Oversee shop drawings, submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), punch lists, and project closeout documents.
• Support onsite BAS engineering audits, feasibility studies, and retrofit surveys.
• Prepare and manage project progress reports and departmental reports.
• Handle project contract administration.
• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency and quality of work.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, contractors, vendors, software engineers, client representatives, and outsourced partners.
• Act as the technical lead or primary contact for moderate to complex projects.
• Coordinate the efforts of engineering and production staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, construction, or related fields.
• At least 5 years of experience in BAS controls systems engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of open-source protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP.
• Familiarity with IoT and intelligent building solutions.
• Understanding of standard data center control redundancy strategies.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of mission-critical or commercial buildings.
• Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Capability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and optimize processes.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and solve complex problems.
• Compliance with company and site safety protocols.
• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to communicate directly with clients and serve as the primary client contact as necessary.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision.
• Competence in planning and delegating tasks to others.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to remain stationary frequently, navigate office/facility environments, and occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% to client sites, partner offices, or company events across the U.S.
