Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the delivery process from planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking to budget oversight and acceptance, guiding the project from discovery through to production release.

• Lead the discovery phase to facilitate a definitive go/no-go decision prior to commencing the build.

• Monitor client dependencies and decisions, coordinating with stakeholders and establishing deadlines; proactively escalate issues that may jeopardize the project plan.

• Manage scope and change control by evaluating change requests, documenting impacts, and routing them for necessary approvals.

• Conduct Scrum ceremonies and ensure the Jira backlog and board remain updated in collaboration with the Tech Lead and Business Analyst.

• Coordinate effectively among the client, partner vendors, and third-party providers within a multi-vendor framework.

• Maintain the RAID log, decision log, and provide regular status updates to both the client and Software Mind leadership.

• Organize UAT and oversee the production release in partnership with the client.

• Manage team capacity and resource allocation within a cross-functional team environment.

• Prepare documentation for acceptance evidence and handover processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of project management experience in software delivery, with at least 3 years dedicated to client-facing projects for U.S. clients.

• Demonstrated success in delivering fixed-price and fixed-scope projects, including baseline management, change control, and milestone-based acceptance.

• Strong proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies, along with experience using Jira and Confluence.

• Proven ability to manage client dependencies and decisions within multi-vendor environments.

• Technical knowledge of APIs, integrations, cloud services (AWS), and microservices, enabling participation in architectural discussions and assessment of technical risks.

• A solid history of executing short, high-intensity projects from discovery to production.

• Confident in managing stakeholder relationships up to the executive level.

• Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for daily interactions with clients.

• Experience in the e-commerce, shipping, logistics, or fulfillment domains is a plus.

• Familiarity with Shopify Plus or headless commerce is advantageous.

• Background in promotional products, print-on-demand, or made-to-order manufacturing is desirable.

• Possession of PMP, PSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification is beneficial.

• Experience with AI-assisted delivery tools is a plus.
