This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Deliver thorough occupational safety and health consulting services to clients.
• Evaluate current safety and health programs for compliance with regulations and overall effectiveness.
• Perform shop floor assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize employee injury risks.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce employee injury risks.
• Assess the effectiveness of the solutions that have been put in place.
• Conduct industrial hygiene sampling activities.
• Collaborate with Apex project managers to coordinate and carry out industrial safety projects.
• Design, implement, and manage agreed-upon service plans in collaboration with customers.
• Track and report on the progress of plan execution.
• Work with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance project momentum.
• Counsel clients on matters related to occupational safety and health.
• Contribute ideas for potential new EHS support initiatives.
• Provide leadership and project management as required.
• Frequently traverse large client sites, potentially covering a quarter to half a mile to access work areas.
• A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in the industrial safety and health sector.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly industries, or heavy industry environments is advantageous.
• Background in the aerospace and defense or automotive sectors is a further asset.
• In-depth knowledge of occupational safety topics and their practical implementation.
• Familiarity with shop floor hazard identification assessments.
• Knowledge of job safety analysis and job hazard analysis methodologies.
• Proficiency in employee injury data analysis.
• Understanding of machine guarding requirements.
• Expertise in preventing slip, trip, and fall incidents.
• Knowledge of confined space entry protocols.
• Experience with personal protective equipment standards.
• Participation in safety committees and leading safety meetings/training sessions.
• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Experience in industrial hygiene monitoring and sampling of worker exposure.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.
• Initiative and creativity as a self-starter.
• Capability to plan and achieve objectives utilizing experience and judgment.
• Ability to ensure EHS regulatory compliance and stay updated on legal changes.
• Strong skills in technical writing.
• Proven ability to multitask effectively.
• Awareness of safety and understanding of safe working practices.
• Experience in data management and report creation.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
