Senior Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage a portfolio of AHEAD's most intricate, high-risk, and high-profile client engagements.

• Strategically plan, execute, and lead project teams to successfully complete projects within client timelines and budget constraints.

• Act as the primary source of knowledge and control for the comprehensive project efforts.

• Cultivate and maintain client relationships, including connections at the executive level.

• Ensure continuous client communication and proactively manage concerns and unmet expectations.

• Define and document client success criteria while ensuring alignment throughout various project phases.

• Clearly communicate business outcomes and focus client discussions on results rather than just status updates.

• Identify and proactively mitigate risks, issues, and early warning indicators.

• Coordinate project delivery among AHEAD project managers, practices, Managed Services teams, clients, and vendors.

• Develop and implement project plans, scopes, schedules, budgets, deliverables, resource allocations, and role definitions.

• Maintain precise portfolio data, including RYG status, RAID logs, resource assignments, project phase, and revenue status.

• Analyze margin, utilization, forecasts, and portfolio health; take action to enhance business outcomes.

• Supervise project activities to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

• Coach and mentor project managers and team members.

• Create and route project change orders for necessary approvals.

• Collaborate with Sales and Presales on statements of work, opportunity assessments, pursuits, and client presentations.

• Conduct project closeouts, including client acceptance, documentation handoff, financial updates, lessons learned, and archiving.

• Implement AHEAD's project management standards, governance, templates, and quality practices.

• Facilitate project meetings, decision-making forums, and executive briefings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in client-facing roles within professional services or technology delivery.

• PMP, Prince2, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master certification is preferred.

• Significant experience in IT services, consulting, or technology delivery environments is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with specific technologies and solutions involved in assigned engagements is preferred.

• Ability to clearly communicate business outcomes and success metrics.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong client-service orientation and professional demeanor.

• Quick learner capable of adapting to new tools, processes, and technical concepts.

• Highly organized and detail-focused; adept at managing multiple concurrent projects.

• Strong financial and operational acumen, including oversight of project budgets, margins, and resource allocations.

• Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.

• Skill in facilitating meetings, documenting decisions and action items, following through, and influencing without formal authority.

• Proficient problem-solving abilities related to risks, issues, dependencies, and resource limitations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 applications.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors/subcontractors.

• Technical familiarity with delivered solutions and technologies, or the ability to rapidly gain such familiarity.
