Senior Project Engineer – Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Provide administrative assistance to Programs and Projects within the Commercial Nuclear division.

• Prepare procedures and documentation, maintain records, and organize as well as disseminate project-related information.

• Lead and coordinate engineering initiatives within various projects.

• Ensure an efficient flow of deliverables, interfaces, and technical information across various disciplines and project functions.

• Serve as the project team lead and hold delegated technical authority from the Engineering Manager.

• Oversee integrated design execution for multiple interconnected systems.

• Lead system-level design tasks within the scope of delegated authority.

• Integrate inputs from Systems Engineers and discipline engineers effectively.

• Maintain technical progress and provide updates on schedule status.

• Identify and manage cross-system interfaces.

• Ensure alignment with cost and schedule expectations.

• Coordinate engineering activities across different disciplines.

• Track deliverables, progress, delays, missing inputs, action items, outstanding issues, and engineering registers.

• Monitor drawings, specifications, data sheets, and equipment lists.

• Ensure timely circulation, review, and issuance of deliverables.

• Facilitate coordination between engineering disciplines, engineering and procurement, and engineering and construction teams.

• Track interface requirements and escalate any gaps or inconsistencies.

• Prepare and compile technical input packages for RFIs/RFPs.

• Follow up on procurement documentation and vendor data submissions.

• Assist with technical clarifications through Procurement.

• Identify and communicate any execution issues and risks related to engineering deliverables or interfaces.

• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams and integrate design efforts across disciplines.

• Mentor junior colleagues and conduct quality reviews as necessary.

• Review design media for accuracy and compliance with company policies, procedures, and client expectations.

• Adhere to assigned schedules and initiate corrective actions to address delays.

• Report technically to the Engineering Manager and programmatically to the Systems Engineering Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering Field.

• At least 7 years of relevant experience (Project Engineer/Project Controls).

• Experience in the nuclear industry.

• Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering projects (industrial, infrastructure, or energy preferred).

• Basic understanding of engineering project workflows.

• Knowledge of project documentation and deliverables tracking.

• Ability to operate in a multidisciplinary and matrix environment.

• Strong organizational and coordination capabilities.

• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables.

• Excellent communication and follow-up skills.

• In-depth knowledge and experience in process systems design.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Significant impact across a broad range of functional activities.

• Ability to offer guidance to colleagues through best practices.

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and capacity to manage tasks while meeting deadlines.

• Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810e.
