Senior Programs – Business Operations Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the demand-side merchandising strategy, focusing on ranking, including placement, sequencing, and surfacing logic.

• Advocate for dynamic, context-sensitive ranking based on factors such as the day of the week, availability, trends, market conditions, and traveler demographics.

• Prioritize experiments aimed at enhancing discoverability and convert findings into actionable decisions.

• Act as the senior demand liaison to Product and Engineering teams concerning matching, personalization, and ranking initiatives.

• Define merchandising, supply, and product responsibilities while fostering alignment among teams.

• Sustain the dialogue between product and operations during times of limited Product coverage.

• Develop dashboards and metrics to measure discoverability, spotlights, and placement effectiveness.

• Address analytics and tooling gaps to expedite learning and iteration processes.

• Present a data-driven analysis of merchandising investment outcomes.

• Report directly to the Director of Business Growth for Experiences and collaborate with the SEM/SEO/Display lead.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in business operations, product operations, or strategy, preferably within a marketplace or consumer platform.

• A solid analytical background, demonstrating comfort with data, measurement creation, and translating insights into operational decisions.

• Proven track record of collaboration with Product and Engineering teams on ranking, search, personalization, or merchandising projects.

• Capability to navigate ambiguity and foster alignment among senior stakeholders with differing priorities.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence a technical roadmap at a senior level without direct ownership.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. is registered.

• SQL or similar hands-on analytical skills are a plus.

• Experience in search/ranking, recommendations, or merchandising systems is advantageous.
