Senior Programmer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, modify, test, and implement web-based applications, client-server solutions, and operating system scripts.

• Create applications utilizing Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL).

• Integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software into current systems and architectures.

• Evaluate system requirements and design new or enhanced functionalities for applications.

• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to define requirements and create program specifications.

• Plan, document, code, test, and execute computer programs following established Systems Development Methodologies.

• Develop test conditions and data, analyze test outcomes, and coordinate system and user acceptance testing.

• Assess and resolve application and production issues.

• Conduct research and evaluate emerging technologies and programming solutions.

• Manage multiple concurrent project requests and application updates.

• Assist in the development and upkeep of data and process models.

• Create and maintain technical and program documentation.

• Support work planning, project organization, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.

• Provide project status updates related to schedule, costs, performance, risks, and technical challenges.

• Collaborate with Project Managers, workstream sponsors, business leads, technical teams, and end users.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 8 years of professional experience in programming and application development.

• Extensive experience with SQL and relational database environments.

• Proven experience in developing and modifying web-based and client-server applications.

• Familiarity with application testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

• Knowledge of Systems Development Methodologies and software development lifecycle processes.

• Experience in gathering requirements and working closely with business users.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex federal environment.
