Senior Program / Project Manager – EU, Defence R&D

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Independently lead intricate EU and defense R&D projects from initiation through execution, reporting, and closure.

• Take ownership of project scope, timeline, milestones, deliverables, budget, and risk management.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary, geographically distributed teams while managing consortium partners, funding authorities, and subcontractors.

• Convert Grant Agreement and contractual obligations into actionable project plans.

• Monitor progress, identify deviations early, and implement corrective measures.

• Prepare and facilitate consortium reviews, steering meetings, and presentations for funding authorities.

• Manage contractual deliverables, periodic reports, and audit-ready documentation until completion.

• Assist in proposal development and consortium formation for new R&D ventures.

• Generate project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, contractual deliverables, reports, decision records, change requests, stakeholder communications, and inputs for proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in leading complex technology, cyber security, defense, or R&D projects with a high degree of autonomy.

• Proficient in project financial management, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.

• Experience in managing distributed teams and coordinating with multiple external organizations.

• Familiarity with EDF, Horizon Europe, EDA, ESA, NATO, or similar multi-partner programs is a significant advantage.

• Proficient in tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or MS Project.

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, IT, cyber security, business, or project management.

• PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA, or SAFe certification is beneficial.

• Willingness to undergo a government security clearance process.
