Senior Program Manager, Technology – Software Asset Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage strategic Software Asset Management initiatives that have a significant impact across the organization.

• Oversee high-risk compliance programs and improvements to processes that affect the entire enterprise.

• Ensure SAM programs align with enterprise goals, including cost containment, compliance preparedness, operational efficiency, and measurable results.

• Integrate AI and automation technologies into SAM workflows to decrease manual tasks and enhance accuracy in license management and compliance reporting.

• Work collaboratively with Vendor Management, Sourcing, Security, Engineering, Legal, and Tech Finance to establish a cohesive license compliance process.

• Organize executive-level steering committee meetings, providing data-driven insights regarding program advancements, license risks, and outcomes.

• Cultivate stakeholder relationships, influence priorities, and resolve conflicts effectively.

• Offer strategic data and process insights to cross-functional teams.

• Mentor team members and enhance organizational expertise in SAM.

• Consistently drive multiple SAM initiatives in alignment with enterprise strategies and IT asset management goals.

• Define and monitor KPIs related to cost savings, compliance adherence, and license optimization.

• Utilize AI-driven analytics and reporting to oversee progress, mitigate risks, and deliver actionable insights.

• Identify opportunities to improve SAM tools, processes, and data integration.

• Develop playbooks, templates, and best practices to enhance SAM capabilities.

• Serve as a thought leader in SAM, advocating for proactive, AI-enabled, results-oriented program delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional programs with a focus on Software Asset Management (SAM).

• More than 7 years of demonstrated success in delivering high-impact, multimillion-dollar initiatives.

• In-depth understanding of SAM principles, software lifecycle management, and software licensing models.

• Expert-level knowledge of FlexeraOne, including foundational backend expertise.

• Familiarity with major software vendors, both on-premises and cloud-based, such as Oracle, Google, Azure, and AWS.

• Proven ability to manage software audits and maintain audit readiness.

• Experience in executive stakeholder management, including briefing VP/CTO-level audiences and translating complex data into compelling executive narratives.

• Strong track record of leading effective teams and driving change across diverse groups.

• Technical background with a solid understanding of core infrastructure and software development principles.

• Capability to foster cross-functional relationships across Vendor Management, Security, Engineering, Product Management, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, and HR.

• Exceptional leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with AI/automation technologies, such as Azure OpenAI, GitHub Actions, and Power Automate.

• Proficient in defining and tracking metrics for program success.

• Ability to align SAM initiatives with goals related to cost containment, compliance, and digital transformation.

• Capacity to influence executives, IT leaders, and business unit managers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience (preferred).

• Certifications in SAM tools or frameworks such as ITIL, CSAM, or FNMS (highly desirable).

• Familiarity with discovery and ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Wiz, Configuration Management, JAMF, and InTune.

• Experience in implementing or managing cloud-based SAM processes for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of a purple-team security mindset and the relationship between software governance and cyber risk.
